Ready to Get Your Design Print-Ready?

In-Person in Overland Park, Kansas City Metro's Only Local Option!

If you’re anywhere in Johnson County — Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa, Shawnee — or the wider Kansas City metro, the in-person consultation is something no other 3D printing service in the region offers. We’re a real, walk-in studio with real equipment, and we’d much rather work with you across a table than over a chat box.

In-person sessions include:

  1. Working alongside our Creality K2 Plus while it’s actively printing — see exactly what your file will produce
  2. Holding sample prints in different materials (PLA, PLA-CF, PETG, TPU) so you can feel the difference before choosing
  3. Same-day printing for small jobs we can knock out during your visit
  4. Zero shipping wait — pick up your final print whenever it’s done

Outside Kansas City?

The Zoom version of this service exists for exactly that reason. You get the same expert, the same teaching, the same outcome — just over a screen share instead of a desk.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Knowledge Base

Not at all. Plenty of our consultation customers have never opened a CAD program in their life. We work in whatever software fits your level — from drag-and-drop Tinkercad for total beginners to Fusion 360 for more involved projects. If you're a complete beginner, that just means we'll spend a little of the session showing you the basics as we go.

Freelancers deliver a file. We deliver a file plus the skills to make the next one yourself. Freelancers also typically work asynchronously over messages — you submit, wait, get a result, send revisions, wait more. Our consultation is live and collaborative, you ask questions in real time, and we're a local business with a physical studio you can visit. We also actually print the parts ourselves, so the design is being shaped by someone who knows what works on a printer.

Both work. If you have a file, we'll review and fix it. If you only have an idea, a photo, or a sketch, we'll model it from zero while you watch. Simple objects (a custom keychain, a phone stand, a clay cutter) can usually be modeled from scratch in 30–60 minutes. More complex projects might need a longer session or a follow-up.

The teaching, the file work, and the outcome are identical. In person you get the bonus of seeing our printer in action, holding sample prints, and same-day printing if your file is simple enough. On Zoom you save the drive but still get a real one-on-one session with screen sharing.

That's normal. We'll get as far as we can during the session — usually further than you expect — and either book a follow-up at a discounted rate or send you home with a clear plan for what to do next. You'll never be left half-finished.

Your design is yours. We don't share, sell, or reuse files — and we don't use them in marketing without your written permission. If you're working on something proprietary (an invention, a product, a startup idea), we're happy to sign an NDA before the session.

Yes. Every consultation session includes 50% off your first print after the session. So if you book a 60-minute session at $65 and immediately print a $40 part, you save $20 right there.

In-person sessions can have up to two people in the room — perfect for a parent and child, two friends collaborating on a cosplay piece, or business partners working on a product. Zoom sessions can have additional participants joining the call too. Just let us know when you book.

That's totally fine. The consultation is a real service on its own — a lot of customers just want to learn or get unstuck. You're not committing to a print order by booking.
